Giessen had already secured the league crown and an automatic spot in the European Division III tournament. Despite Giessen’s loss, their 5-1 overall record and 4-1 in III-South, remained strong for the tournament taking place on May 20-22. Ansbach finished third in the league race, following Giessen and Baumholder.
Five III-South teams are set to compete in the regional qualifying tournament to join Giessen at the European tournament. Bad Aibling will not participate due to player transfers. In London Central, Colin Lineberger’s goal and two assists led his team to a 6-0 victory over Menwith Hill, keeping their record at 7-0 ahead of the Division III-North regional qualifying tournament. AFNORTH in Hanau, Deutschland, stayed undefeated with a 4-2 win over Hanau, thanks to three goals from Pal Skangen. Wiesbaden salvaged a 2-2 tie against Würzburg in Division I after Cooper Bryant scored two second-half goals. Heidelberg, led by Christoph Ascherl’s three goals, moved into a tie for first place in Division I with Ramstein, following an 8-1 victory over Kaiserslautern.
In Stuttgart, Patch secured their first win with a 5-1 victory over Bitburg, with goals from Josh Anderson and an assist from Jeff Jones.
